Summer French Horn Courses

2nd - 8th August 2020 / Monastery Broumov

6th year of an international french horn courses

In the year 2020, The Summer Horn Courses will be held in National Monument of the Broumov Monastery for the sixth time, as an accompanying program of the Za poklady Broumovska Music Festival. During the time, the courses gained their place in the summer cultural program of the monastery, and the organizers' efforts is to further extend the courses of international participation. This has been successful since the second year of teaching (Kerry Turner - member of the American Horn Quartet, Saar Berger - member of Ensemble Modern, finnish horn player Esa Tapani, Ricardo Matosinhos, portugal horn player and composer), and from the year 2018 also by student participation (in 2018 and 2019 the courses welcomed participants from Japan, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovak republic, Russia, Switzerland, Portugal, Germany and Czech Republic).

The courses are intended for pupils of the elementary school, conservatory students and academics, as well as for the public, without any age limit.

Dariusz Mikulski (Poland) - Orchestra and Opera Conductor, Music Director, Horn-Soloist
Prof. Jindřich Petráš (CZ) - dean at the Music Faculty of Janacek Academy of Music and Performing Arts, chairman of the Hornforum Society
Jan Vobořil (CZ) - solo horn player of the Czech Philharmonic, pedagogue HAMU in Prague
Martin Sokol (CZ) - first horn player of the Prague Symphony Orchestra
Lenka Němcová (CZ) - pedagogue of the Primary Music School in Police nad Metují and Broumov
